Lifetime Movies: Breast Cancer Awareness

Yes I'm guilty! I love, love, love Lifetime Movies! I don't care what people say I always find an empowering lesson behind those movies. I decided to go to mylifetime.com today instead of studying (bad choice) as I was reading the descriptions of the the movie selections they had I came across "Why I Wore Lipstick to my Mastectomy" so I decided to watch, the description said that it was a true story of a 27-year old woman and her battle against cancer. Being that it is cancer awareness month what else could've I expected from Lifetime. So anyways I decided to watch.. And I would love for other women to watch this movie as well.

Sometimes we might think that we are invincible or that we are too young for something such as "breast cancer" or any type of cancer but reality is that cancer won't wait until you're ready most of the time it is unexpected. If this woman would've never felt those 3-lumps on her right breast the cancer would have gone undetected because her doctor also missed the lumps if she would've never brought it up to her doctor she could have been dead. It is important for us women to do self-routine check ups on our bodies and to know our bodies, no matter what age. We overlook a lot of stuff it could be fear or it can be us just not believing anything of this sort could happen to us but the reality is that we don't know and we can't prevent anything from happening.

Breast cancer is the most common cause of cancer-related deaths amongst women worldwide. With over 410,000 deaths a year. Breast cancer accounts for 14% of all women cancer related deaths a year and 1.6% of female deaths worldwide.

Lets stay informed, Ask your doctor, your friend, you momma.. it doesn't hurt to ask and it doesn't hurt to get a routine check up.

Stay informed!

XOXO <3
